OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

CONTEST OVERVIEW

The Rockaway Ricky Memorial Fund (RRMF), a program of Pacificans Care, is hosting the 2027 Dog Days of Pacifica Dog Photo Contest to raise funds in support of pets belonging to Pacifica seniors, unhoused individuals, and families in need.

  • Entry Period: May 1, 2026 at 12:01 AM (PST) through June 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM (PST)
  • Voting Period: July 6, 2026 at 12:01 AM (PST) through July 10, 2026 at 11:59 PM (PST)
  • Winners Announced: On or before July 13, 2026

Winners will be determined by popular vote.

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Dogs must belong to owners who live or work within a 30-mile radius of Pacifica, California
  • Entrants must be at least 18 years of age or have permission from a parent or guardian
  • Dogs may only be entered once, either individually or as part of a multi-dog household submission (not both)

 

ENTRY & DONATION DETAILS

To enter the contest:

  • A $35 donation is required for each entry
  • Each entry includes:
    • One (1) photo submission
    • One (1) “Celebrate the Day” calendar feature
    • One (1) complimentary 2027 calendar

All donations:

  • Are non-refundable
  • Are tax-deductible (a receipt will be provided via email)

Important:

Donations are processed through our nonprofit fundraising platform. After completing your donation, you must return to the contest page to finish your entry form.

👉 Please ensure your name and contact information match your donation so your entry can be verified.

Entries that cannot be matched to a completed donation may be disqualified.

 

CELEBRATE THE DAY

Each contest entry includes the opportunity to Celebrate the Day by selecting a special date in the 2027 calendar to feature your dog’s photo.

  • Dates are selected during the entry process
  • Available on a first come, first served basis
  • Once a date is selected, it is no longer available

Each entry includes  one Celebrate the Day calendar feature.

 

Prizes & Calendar Placement

A total of 12 winners will be selected:

  • 1st Place:
    • Featured on the calendar cover
    • Professional photography session (photo used for cover)
  • 2nd–4th Place:
    • Featured as a “Dog of the Month”
    • Professional photography session
  • 5th–12th Place:
    • Featured in a monthly spread using submitted photo

Additional details:

  • October is reserved for the RRMF Halloween Contest winner
  • All non-winning entries will still be featured:
    • On their selected Celebrate the Day calendar date
    • In a collage page within the calendar

Professional photo sessions:

  • Will take place in Pacifica on select dates between [????]
  • Must be scheduled based on availability
  • Winners must respond by [????] to claim their session

 

Photo Submission Guidelines

Photos must meet the following requirements:

  • Landscape orientation
  • High resolution (minimum 300 dpi)
  • Submitted in JPG or PNG format
  • Feature only dog(s) from the same household
  • No humans, other animals, or wildlife
  • No text overlays, collages, or heavy editing

Additional guidelines:

  • Photos must be original and owned by the entrant
  • Professional or copyrighted images are not permitted
  • Entries containing inappropriate or unsafe content will be disqualified

Entries that do not meet these requirements may be disqualified without refund.

 

VOTING

  • Voting will take place online only via the RRMF website
  • One vote per household, per day during the voting period
  • Voting is open to the public—participants are encouraged to share and promote their entry

Additional terms:

  • No in-person, mail-in, or phone voting
  • RRMF is not responsible for technical issues related to voting
  • In the event of a tie, placement will be determined by a random drawing

 

Additional Calendar Opportunities

Additional opportunities to feature your dog in the 2027 calendar may be made available at a later time. Details will be announced on the website.

General Terms

  • By entering, participants grant RRMF permission to use submitted photos for calendar and promotional purposes
  • Entrants retain rights to their images
  • RRMF reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not meet contest guidelines
  • RRMF is not responsible for technical issues related to submissions, payments, or voting

 

Release of Liability

  • By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless The Rockaway Ricky Memorial Fund, Pacificans Care, and their respective officers, directors, volunteers, and representatives from any claims arising from participation in the contest or acceptance of any prize.
